Formerly known as the Fairview Resource Centre, and still located at 6 Titus St. in Fairview, Nova Village is a vibrant family and community hub that provides inclusive and barrier-free access to programs for youths, parents and caregivers, and adults to navigate the challenges of parenting, mental health and community care. With programs like Thriving Families Nova Scotia, Family Counselling, Parent Workshops, Postnatal Support, and the Parenting Journey Program, Nova Village is committed to enhancing maternal wellness, early childhood support and providing trauma informed care. Nova Village continues to expand their services to include youth programs, food programs and co-parenting support programs. They ensure that their programs are inclusive and accessible by offering meals, childcare, transportation assistance and language interpretation services.
Each month, my office visits Nova Village to provide onsite MLA services, so that constituents of Fairview – Clayton Park have direct access to support and resources with NS Provincial Government matters. Information about our visits are available on the Nova Village website and the monthly calendar, including the specific dates and times.
Our monthly visits allow community members to:
Receive help navigating provincial services, accessing government programs and benefits, form-filling and applications
Discuss any provincial government matters
Free Notary and Commissioner of Oaths services – appointment required
We are thankful to the Nova Village for welcoming us into their space and we are continually inspired by the families and individuals who show up, connect and grow through their programs. Together, we’re building a province where community care is recognized, resourced, and respected.
